What can happen in a second.
A lot can happen in a second. You can go from waiting with trepidation, wondering what you're going to do with the next four years of your life, to being accepted into your first choice university. You can go from only worrying about yourself to having every thought consumed by the tiny being now inside you. You can go from having someone to spend the rest of your life with, to being alone for the first time in 47 years.
But usually, a second doesn't change very much. Hundreds, thousands, millions of seconds pass us by every day without another thought. Seconds can fly by when you least want them to, or drag on endlessly when you do.
So yes, a lot can happen in a second. But it's those seemingly insignificant, inconsequential seconds in between the life-changing seconds that truly make up the story of our lives. The seconds that link together to form the minutes and hours, that weave with one another to connect one moment to the next. The seconds that get brushed over when sharing life stories with friends, the ones that we would sometimes rather forget. The ones that stretch across time to turn us into the people we become.
Every second is important in our lives, each one has the chance to alter our path because, really, anything can happen in a second.
